Dimitris Koutsoumpas criticizes Greek political system in Northern Euboea

Dimitris Koutsoumpas, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), delivered a speech in Mandoudi, Northern Euboea, marking five years since the region's devastating wildfires. He praised the local population for their struggle to rebuild and remain resilient.

Koutsoumpas criticized the current socio-economic and political system, arguing that it prioritizes the profitability of business groups over the safety and needs of the people. He asserted that the capitalist state and its governing parties are responsible for failing to protect citizens from natural disasters.

Furthermore, he dismissed the economic narrative used by political leaders such as Mitsotakis, Androulakis, and Tsipras, claiming that capitalist growth does not benefit workers, retirees, or farmers. He characterized the political debate between these leaders as a distraction intended to make the public abandon their demands for essential needs.
