Dimitris Papanastasiou secures podium at McLaren Trophy Europe finale

Greek driver Dimitris Papanastasiou concluded his McLaren Trophy Europe season at the Portimao circuit in Algarve with mixed results. Driving for Raptor Engineering alongside new teammate Flavio Olivieri, Papanastasiou secured a podium finish in the second race of the weekend.

However, the driver missed out on the Pro-AM category title. Despite entering the final round only 17.5 points behind leaders Alejandro Geppert and Eric Behrens, Papanastasiou faced setbacks in the first race. After initially finishing second, a penalty regarding his starting position dropped him to fifth, followed by a disqualification due to the use of tape on the car's front fairing. Raptor Engineering has filed an objection regarding the disqualification, which was reportedly a safety measure to prevent deformation under aerodynamic pressure rather than a performance advantage.
