Dimitrovgrad police investigate body found in car trunk

Police in Dimitrovgrad have launched a criminal investigation after the body of a 67-year-old man was discovered wrapped in a blanket inside the trunk of a crashed Mercedes. The discovery was made while authorities were preparing to move the vehicle, which had struck a waste container.

Initial findings suggest the man did not die as a result of the traffic accident itself. Consequently, prosecutors have opened a pre-trial proceeding for intentional murder under Article 115 of the Penal Code.

Authorities have detained the victim's 32-year-old wife for questioning. A 14-year-old boy, identified as the wife's son, has been placed under police protection. Forensic examinations are pending to determine the exact cause and circumstances of the death.
