Édiémou Blin Jacob, religious leader in Côte d’Ivoire, passes away
Reverend Pastor Édiémou Blin Jacob, a prominent figure in the Church of Eternal Christianity (ECC) in Côte d’Ivoire, has passed away. As the head of the national diocese, he was recognized as the last living disciple of the church's founder, Reverend Prophet Samuel Biléou Joseph Oshoffa.
Throughout his ministry, which began following a divine calling in Porto-Novo, Benin, in 1975, Jacob was instrumental in the establishment and growth of the ECC within Côte d’Ivoire. Beyond his religious duties, he was a key member of the National Forum of Religious Confessions in Côte d’Ivoire, where he worked toward social cohesion, interreligious dialogue, and national peace.
In recent years, Jacob had been working toward reconciling internal divisions within the church. Pastor Luc Kanon noted that Jacob had sought rapprochement with other church leaders to foster unity, a mission he pursued even while facing illness.
