Din Merlin faces protests and petition over planned Kraljevo concert
Singer Din Merlin is facing significant backlash in Kraljevo regarding his scheduled September concert at the Sports Airport. An online petition titled ‘Ban Din Merlin from performing in Kraljevo’ has gathered over 3,300 signatures. Opponents cite the singer's statements from the 1990s as the basis for their protest.
The Association of War Disabled Kraljevo has also called for the cancellation of the event, stating that the concert would be an insult to Serbian war victims. The association has questioned whether organizers considered the impact on war victims and refugees who settled in Kraljevo during the 1990s. Additionally, a banner reading ‘You won’t sing’ appeared in the city before being removed by an unknown person.
In contrast to the protests in Kraljevo, Din Merlin recently completed a series of successful concerts at the Koševo stadium in Sarajevo. During these performances, backing vocalist Aida Mušanović Arsić received significant praise from the audience. Arsić, who has worked with Merlin for over 15 years, discussed her growing popularity and her upcoming solo musical project following the high-energy shows.
