Dinamo Bucharest Stadium Cost Surge Adds €30 Million to Project
The new Dinamo stadium in Bucharest, projected at €172 million, faces an additional €30 million request from the construction consortium. The increase is attributed to technical modifications required by the National Investment Company, including underground infrastructure, drainage, geotechnical conditions, and heat‑distribution works. The project, overseen by the Ministry of Internal Affairs through the Dinamo sports club, was originally slated for a 32‑month construction period but has been extended to 92 months. The arena will hold 26,217 spectators and include hotel‑type rooms, a large cafeteria, VIP lounges, and facilities for athletes with disabilities. The cost escalation raises the total expected outlay to about €202 million.
