Dinamo Zagreb loses 4-2 to Osijek in first league defeat

Dinamo Zagreb suffered their first league defeat of the season, losing 4-2 to Osijek at the Opus Arena. Osijek dominated much of the match, with Armando León scoring twice in the first half. Although Dinamo attempted a comeback with goals from Miha Zajc and Smail Prevljak, a late strike by Domagoj Bukvić secured the win for the hosts.

Despite the heavy defeat and mounting fan dissatisfaction, Dinamo club sources have stated that head coach Mario Kovačević will remain in his position. The club indicated that his dismissal is not currently a topic of discussion and that he will lead the team in their upcoming European League clash against Hapoel Beer Sheva. Club officials noted that responsibility for the performance lies with the players, citing overconfidence as a contributing factor.

Osijek coach Federico Bessone addressed the team's recent struggles, including a recent cup exit and the loss of several key players. While acknowledging the squad is weakened, Bessone remains optimistic about the team's ability to compete at the top of the table.
