Dinamo Zagreb limits Europa League squad due to UEFA rules

Dinamo Zagreb has submitted its squad list for the UEFA Europa League league phase, but the club is limited to 23 players on its 'A list' instead of the maximum allowed 25. This reduction is due to UEFA regulations regarding locally and club-trained players.

UEFA rules require eight spots on the 25-man roster to be reserved for locally trained players. At least four of these must be club-trained players aged between 15 and 21 who have spent at least three seasons (36 months) at the club. While Dinamo meets the criteria for locally trained players, it lacks a sufficient number of players meeting the specific club-trained status. Only Bruno Godai and Dominik Kotarski currently satisfy this requirement. Consequently, the club cannot fill all eight reserved spots, forcing a reduction in the total squad size.

Several players were excluded from the Europa League list, including Fran Topić, Robert Mudražija, Paul Tabinasai, and goalkeeper Ivan Nevistić. The squad includes new signings and established players such as Dominik Kotarski, Luka Ivanušec, Iker Almena, and Dani Rodriguez. Regarding Ivan Nevistić, reports suggest he may seek a loan move following interest from clubs in Turkey, Greece, and Cyprus, as he was not included in the current European campaign roster.
