Ema Modric joins Real Madrid women's academy

Ema Modric, the 13-year-old daughter of Croatian football legend Luka Modric, has joined the Real Madrid women's academy. She moves to the Spanish club to join the cadete (U-16) squad, which competes in the Primera División Autonómica de la Comunidad de Madrid.

Ema arrives from AC Milan, where she recently won the Garino Cup with the U-13 category, a tournament in which she scored a decisive goal in the quarter-finals. Her move to Madrid follows an inverse path to her father's career; while Luka moved from Real Madrid to AC Milan, Ema is returning to Spain to continue her development at Valdebebas.

Ema previously played for Madrid CFF in her early years. She will train under coach Héctor Bueno as part of the club's youth development structure.
