Dinkelhof recalls spelt pasta due to Salmonella risk

The Bavarian pasta manufacturer Dinkelhof has issued an urgent recall for its 'Dinkel Sombrelli mit Wildkräutern' product due to the detection of Salmonella. The contamination was traced back to a batch of wild herbs provided by an external supplier.

The recall specifically affects 500-gram packages with a best-before date of June 9, 2028. Distribution was concentrated in the Bavarian districts of Fürstenfeldbruck and Aichach-Friedberg, as well as through the manufacturer's own online store.

Consumers are advised not to consume the affected product and to return it to the place of purchase for a refund, which will be granted even without a receipt. Those who have consumed the product and experience symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, or nausea are encouraged to seek medical advice.
