Dino Melaye threatens legal action over APC campaign appointments

Former Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye has announced intentions to legally challenge the appointment of Zacch Adedeji, Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 election.

Melaye, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, raised concerns regarding a potential conflict of interest, noting that Adedeji’s role in fundraising for the campaign could clash with his responsibilities heading the nation’s revenue service.

Additionally, Melaye criticized President Bola Tinubu’s decision to chair the APC Presidential Campaign Council himself. He described the arrangement as “disgraceful,” arguing that a presidential candidate serving as the head of his own campaign council suggests a lack of confidence in the party’s governors and ministers.
