Dino Merlin celebrates 64th birthday

Bosnian singer, songwriter, and composer Dino Dervišhalidović, known professionally as Dino Merlin, is celebrating his 64th birthday. Born in Sarajevo in 1962, he has established himself as one of the most prominent musical figures in the Balkan region.

Merlin began his career in 1983 with the group “Merlin” before launching a solo career in 1991. His discography includes over 200 songs, with the album “Sredinom” (2000) becoming a major commercial success across Southeast Europe. He has represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Eurovision Song Contest on three occasions, achieving notable placements in both 1999 and 2015.

Reflecting on his journey from humble beginnings, Merlin has spoken about his early years working in industrial zones and the discipline that shaped his professional approach. Despite regional controversies, he remains a highly popular performer, frequently selling out large arenas throughout the region.
