Dino Merlin draws over 200,000 fans to record‑breaking Sarajevo concerts

Over three nights (30 July–2 August 2026) Bosnian singer‑songwriter Dino Merlin performed at Sarajevo’s Koševo stadium, selling out all tickets and attracting more than 200,000 spectators. The shows set a record for airport passenger traffic, featured guest performers Ivana Banfić, Senidah, Marko Louis and Mahir Beathouse, and included elaborate visual effects such as a drone display of Halid Bešlić.

City mayor Samir Avdić hosted a reception for Merlin, praising the cultural significance of the event. The concerts caused severe damage to the stadium’s grass, prompting the Bosnian football federation to suspend matches at Asim Ferhatović Hase until the turf is repaired.

In Serbia, the Association of War Veterans and Invalids of Kraljevo held a press conference demanding a ban on Merlin’s planned 5 September 2026 concert in the town. Speakers displayed photographs of convicted war criminal Ratko Mladić and made accusations of anti‑Serb statements, but presented no documentary evidence.

Following the Sarajevo concerts, balloons released during the performances were listed for sale on local classifieds, priced between 88 KM and 99 KM, generating online debate about souvenir authenticity.
