Dino Mustafić receives MESS Festival award for theatre contributions
Director Dino Mustafić has been awarded the Golden Laurel Wreath by the MESS Festival Directorate for his exceptional contribution to the art of theatre.
Mustafić’s career is deeply intertwined with the history of the MESS International Theatre Festival, particularly during the difficult period of the Siege of Sarajevo. During the siege, he studied directing at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo and directed works such as ‘Pješice’ at Kamerni teatar 55. He also co-directed the documentary ‘Moja mama šehid’ with Danis Tanović, alongside other films like ‘Pista života’ and ‘Neka bude svjetlosti’.
Following the siege, Mustafić played a key role in the international restoration of the MESS Festival, working to re-establish its global presence at the age of 27. His work reflects a commitment to maintaining culture and art even under extreme circumstances.
