Dino Polska labor dispute intensifies as mediation dates are set

Polish retailer Dino Polska is locked in a prolonged collective‑bargaining conflict with the OPZZ Confederation of Labour in Trade. The Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy has become involved, extending the dispute to the National Prosecutor’s Office and complicating the scheduling of mediation. New mediation sessions are scheduled for 4, 5 and 27 August, which the union has accepted while awaiting the release of State Labour Inspectorate findings that documented more than 1,300 violations at Dino stores.

The union also warns of a planned general strike for September. Dino has filed a lawsuit against OPZZ local leader Wojciech Jendrusiak seeking damages and an injunction to stop him from publishing claims about alleged labour law breaches, but the district court rejected the request. The dispute continues in both negotiation and court arenas.
