Dino Polska reports 12.5% revenue growth in first half
Dino Polska has reported a 12.5% year-on-year increase in revenue for the first half of its financial year, reaching PLN 18.0 billion (€4.17 billion). The growth was primarily driven by fresh products, including fruit, vegetables, bread, and meat, which accounted for 41.3% of total revenue.
In the second quarter specifically, the retailer achieved a net profit of PLN 400.1 million, exceeding market consensus. Revenue for the quarter rose 10.5% year-on-year to PLN 9.53 billion, while EBITDA reached PLN 665.1 million. Analysts noted that while like-for-like sales growth was low due to food price deflation, the company's strategy of maintaining low prices to increase sales volume is expected to benefit the second half of the year.
As of June, the company's store network expanded to approximately 3,176 locations. Dino Polska has also made significant investments in renewable energy, with 96% of its network and seven distribution centers utilizing photovoltaic installations. These solar setups have a combined capacity of 126 MW.
