Dinuba restaurant operator indicted for methamphetamine trafficking

Kawal Preet Singh, a 50-year-old Indian national, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges including the distribution of methamphetamine and possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking.

Authorities allege that Singh operated a wholesale methamphetamine distribution scheme out of a Round Table Pizza restaurant he owned in Dinuba, California. The investigation, which involved the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Homeland Security Investigations, began after Singh was identified as a subject in an inquiry into Indian organized crime within the Central Valley.

During searches of Singh’s home and business on August 18, federal agents seized more than 40 pounds of methamphetamine, three firearms, and over $10,000 in cash. If convicted, Singh faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years and a maximum of life in prison for drug trafficking, plus a mandatory minimum five-year sentence for firearm charges to be served consecutively.
