Diocese of Barahona celebrates 25 years of priesthood for two priests

The Diocese of Barahona celebrated the 25th anniversary of the priestly ordination of Fathers Marco Antonio Pérez Pérez and Secilio Espinal Espinal. The commemorative Eucharist took place at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary and was led by Bishop Faustino Burgos Brisman, the Bishop of Baní and apostolic administrator of the Diocese of Barahona.

The ceremony, held as part of the diocese's 50th-anniversary activities, brought together clergy, civil and military authorities, and members of the community. Bishop Burgos Brisman praised the perseverance and service of both priests, noting that their ministry has spanned a quarter of a century.

Father Marco Antonio Pérez Pérez, originally from Duvergé, currently serves as the rector of the Universidad Católica Tecnológica de Barahona (UCATEBA). Father Secilio Espinal Espinal reflected on his vocation, stating that priesthood is not a personal project but a divine initiative.
