Diocese of Locri–Gerace celebrates youth animators at GREStiamo IN GIOCO

The Diocese of Locri–Gerace held the “GREStiamo IN GIOCO” event on August 24 at the Lega Navale in Roccella Ionica to celebrate young animators from parish summer programs (Grest).

Over one hundred participants from across the diocese engaged in an afternoon of games, formation, and community activities, including beach activities and a DJ set. The event was organized by the Diocesan Office of Youth Ministry, led by Don Giovanni Armeni, with support from Sister Sandra Croce and various parish priests.

Bishop Di Pietro joined the group for dinner and prayer, expressing his gratitude to the volunteers. He described their work with youth as a “gesture of heroism and great generosity,” encouraging them to continue fostering spiritual connections through experiential catechesis that combines play, creativity, and community life.
