Diocese of Roraima holds missionary training session

The Diocese of Roraima held a training event for missionaries from August 12 to 14, centered on the theme ‘Widening the Tent: the Church of Brazil on a synodal path’. The gathering focused on studying and reflecting on the Church's mission regarding current pastoral challenges.

Father Edson Thomassim, from the Social Transformation Commission of the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil (CNBB), advised the session. He emphasized care as a pastoral methodology and organizational dimension to strengthen missionary work. The concept of ‘widening the tent’ aims to build a Church that is inclusive of diverse realities by transforming structures to ensure all feel a sense of presence within the institution.

The training also addressed the new General Guidelines for Evangelizing Action of the Church in Brazil, highlighting the need to respond to the specific needs of various communities across the country's diverse landscape.
