Diocese of Urgell issues first pastoral letter

The Diocese of Urgell has released its first pastoral letter, titled ‘Para que tengáis vida’ (So that you may have life), marking the beginning of the missionary month in October. The message emphasizes the pursuit of ‘Theosis’, described as participation in the divine life of the Trinity.

The letter expresses gratitude to the faithful for their commitment to the poor and their historical role in transmitting faith since the 5th century. It calls upon priests, catechists, and pastoral agents to renew their faith and live with joy and hope as the new academic and pastoral course begins. The message highlights the importance of the Incarnation, noting that the Gospel must be lived within the specific traditions, customs, and pluralistic society of the local territory.
