Diogo Pereira and Daniela Isidoro win 51st Madeira Bike Tour
The 51st Volta à Madeira in Bicycle took place from 15 to 19 July over six stages – four road stages, an individual time trial and a final 51.6 km circuit in Funchal. The Grupo Parapedra team dominated the race, controlling the peloton from the opening stage.
Diogo Pereira (Grupo Parapedra – MAF – Riomagic/CRP) secured the overall victory, also taking the points (green) and mountain (blue) classification jerseys. He was joined on the podium by Tiago Galhano in second place and Gonçalo Freitas in third. In the women's category, Daniela Isidoro (Minimax WB Cycling Team Belgium) repeated her stage‑win form to capture the overall title and the pink "A Confeitaria" jersey. The race concluded with a reduced peloton of fewer than 15 riders, and the final stage saw a successful breakaway by Miguel Nunes and António Cunha that was not chased.
Other category winners included Fernando Freitas (youth), Guilherme Pita (Sub‑17 men) and Raquel Isidoro (Sub‑17 women).
