Diosas Fest begins with screening of ‘Ancestral’ in Huesca

The Diosas Fest film cycle has commenced in Huesca with the screening of ‘Ancestral’, a film directed by Pablo Aragüés and co-directed by Marta Cabrera. The film features an ensemble cast including Almudena Amor, Luisa Gavasa, Emma Suárez, Ana Fernández, and Consuelo Trujillo.

Following the screening, a debate was held featuring co-director and producer Marta Cabrera alongside actress Consuelo Trujillo. Cabrera discussed the film's symbolism, noting that the mountain setting represents the isolation of women within environments of machismo and social violence. She also highlighted the use of fire as a symbol of destruction and water as a cleansing element.
