Diourbel court sentences three students for sharing non-consensual video

Three students have been sentenced by the Diourbel flagrant offenses court in Senegal for the distribution of non-consensual explicit imagery. The case involves a 16-year-old high school student in the village of Gatte, located in the Bambey department, who discovered a video of herself sleeping naked being circulated on WhatsApp.

The investigation led to the arrest of the victim's three female cousins, who admitted to relaying the video on the messaging platform but denied responsibility for the initial recording. While the defense argued for leniency to protect the defendants' educational futures, the court sentenced them to two years in prison, including five days of firm incarceration, for the diffusion of images contrary to public morality.
