DIPETHE Kozanis launches environmental theater program for schools

DIPETHE Kozanis is presenting an interactive educational theater program titled ‘The Secret World of Our Lake’ in primary schools across the Kozani regional unit. Running from October 12 to December 23, the production is inspired by Aristophanes’ ‘The Birds’ and incorporates photography by Dimitris Vavliaras documenting the birdlife of Polyfytos Lake.

The initiative aims to foster environmental awareness, discussing topics such as the climate crisis, ecological balance, and the management of the local aquatic ecosystem. The performance features two actors portraying winged creatures, accompanied by live music, and encourages students to participate actively in discussions regarding the protection of their local environment.

Each 70-minute session is held within school classrooms for up to 50 students. The program is directed by Tzortzina Kakoudaki, with dramaturgy by Christina Krithari and her team.
