Diplomats address global dialogue and development at UN meetings

During the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, high-level diplomatic meetings addressed global cooperation and development.

Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Adel al-Jubeir, addressed the High-Level Meeting of the Friends of the Alliance of Civilizations. He emphasized the importance of interfaith dialogue, coexistence, and combating hate speech to maintain security and stability. He noted that Saudi Arabia will host the 11th Forum of the Alliance of Civilizations in Riyadh in December 2025.

Separately, Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Ali Nefati, participated in a meeting commemorating the fifth anniversary of the Global Development Initiative (GDI), originally launched by China in 2021. Nefati praised the initiative's role in supporting developing nations facing debt burdens, supply chain disruptions, and food and energy insecurity. He highlighted Tunisia's commitment to the initiative, particularly in areas such as technology transfer, capacity building, and climate change mitigation.
