Diplomats visit Qalandia refugee camp following Israeli incursions

Representatives from 28 diplomatic missions visited the Qalandia refugee camp, located between Jerusalem and Ramallah, on August 24 to observe the impact of recent Israeli military incursions. The visit, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, aimed to express support for the Palestinian population following an August 5 incursion that resulted in numerous injuries, deaths, arrests, and significant property damage.

During the field visit, officials toured the Qalandia Training Center, the Qalandia Girls' School, and various areas of the camp. Ambassador Omar Awadallah noted an unprecedented escalation of aggression, which included the closure of the UNRWA office within the camp. The delegation included representatives from UNRWA and local Palestinian governance officials.
