Alcalá de Henares to host UNESCO Heritage Cities congress

Alcalá de Henares will host the IV National Congress of Holy Week and Heritage Cities from October 23 to 25. Organized by the Spanish Association of Holy Week of World Heritage Cities, the event will bring together representatives, brotherhoods, and specialists from 15 UNESCO-designated Spanish cities, including Ávila, Córdoba, Segovia, and Toledo.

The forum aims to explore the artistic, historical, and spiritual dimensions of religious traditions within historic urban centers. Discussions will focus on the conservation and international projection of cultural and religious heritage.

In Cáceres, the Provincial Council is launching a program to develop fire prevention plans for 99 municipalities, involving an investment of 308,831 euros. Additionally, the province is promoting its autumn landscapes and traditions through new social media campaigns. Local heritage sites, including the Provincial Palace and the Palace of Mayoralgo, will also be open to the public for guided tours and cultural activities during the XI Open Doors Week in October.
