Diputación de Cádiz approves 4.8 million euro subsidy distribution

The Diputación de Cádiz has approved budget modifications to distribute nearly 4.8 million euros in direct subsidies. The decision marked a temporary truce between the Partido Popular and the PSOE, following previous criticisms from the socialist opposition regarding the arbitrary distribution of funds to municipalities governed by the ruling coalition.

While the PSOE spokesperson noted that the modifications appear to equalize aid among municipalities, the president of the Diputación clarified that out of 33 subsidies, 17 are for municipalities governed by the PSOE and 6 are for IU. The funds are intended for investments in culture, social policies, sports, and vulnerable groups. Despite the agreement, the PSOE expressed concerns regarding the criteria used for certain grants, including large amounts allocated to religious brotherhoods and specific sports clubs.
