Diputación de Córdoba launches generational renewal plan for local cooperative

The Diputación de Córdoba has launched a pilot project to facilitate generational renewal within the Dehesas Cordobesas SCA cooperative, located in Los Pedroches and the Guadiato Valley. This initiative is part of the European Agrosocial project, which is funded by Feder through the Interreg POCTEP Spain-Portugal program.

A recent diagnostic report reveals significant demographic challenges for the cooperative: the average member age is approximately 62, only 7% of members are under 41, and 35% of those surveyed have not yet identified a successor.

The resulting action plan consists of four axes and 16 specific measures designed to attract younger generations through training, technology, and new business models. Early engagement is noted, with nine candidates already identified for the renewal commission and 16 farms interested in the land bank. The project aims to provide tools to ensure the long-term viability of the agri-food sector in rural areas.
