Diputación de Córdoba launches school absenteeism protocol and business training

The Diputación de Córdoba has launched a new protocol to combat school absenteeism in municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants. Managed by the Provincial Institute of Social Welfare (IPBS), the initiative aims to standardize interventions and improve coordination between community social services, educational centers, and families.

During the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic years, the IPBS handled over 360 and 390 cases respectively, successfully normalizing attendance in more than 80% of those instances. The protocol focuses on identifying the underlying social and personal causes of absenteeism to provide professional support.

In a separate initiative, the Provincial Institute of Economic Development (Iprodeco) is offering free training to local entrepreneurs, freelancers, and businesses. The program, titled ‘Building Opportunities,’ is designed to help participants navigate the complexities of public sector bidding, teaching them how to interpret technical specifications and manage documentation to increase their competitiveness in government contracts.
