Diputación de Córdoba promotes heritage through new routes and digital tools

The Diputación de Córdoba has launched several initiatives to promote the natural and historical heritage of the province through environmental education and digital modernization.

The “Conoce tu provincia 2026-2027” program will offer 16 environmental education routes as part of the “Paisajes con Historia” catalog. This campaign, which has offered 85 routes since 2017, aims to encourage the conservation of natural environments by increasing public awareness. The program includes inclusive routes and integrates local tourism by connecting natural spaces with the cultural and gastronomic offerings of the municipalities through which the routes pass.

Additionally, the “Camino Vertical” program, co-financed by the European Union under the Interreg Spain-Portugal framework, is working to modernize the Camino Mozárabe de Santiago within the province. Efforts include updating the official website with multimedia content and implementing digital infrastructure such as interactive totems, QR codes, and real-time information screens. The project also aims to centralize reservations and traveler registration to improve safety and the user experience while boosting local socio-economic opportunities.
