Dire news agency journalists threaten strike over unpaid wages

Journalists at the Dire news agency have declared a state of agitation following delays in salary payments. The assembly has submitted a package for a three-day strike to the editorial committee, citing the lack of certainty regarding payment dates as a major concern that affects more than 60 families.

Despite a prior agreement between the company, the editorial committee, and trade unions to establish fixed payment dates, workers claim the company has violated these commitments. If the overdue payments are not settled within the current week, the newsroom is scheduled to begin a strike on Monday, September 7.

The editorial committee is demanding immediate answers regarding the arrears, clarification on the punctuality of future payments and payslips, and transparent dialogue regarding the long-term sustainability of the company’s recovery plan through a union meeting.
