DirectCloud launches SmartFiling AI with Canon Marketing Japan

DirectCloud has announced the launch of ‘SmartFiling AI Powered by DirectCloud’, a new solution developed for Canon Marketing Japan. Starting September 7, the service will be distributed through Canon Marketing Japan’s sales channels.

The solution aims to enhance document digitization by integrating Canon Marketing Japan’s office multi-function peripherals (MFPs) with DirectCloud’s corporate cloud storage and generative AI capabilities. Unlike traditional scanning methods that focus solely on saving files, SmartFiling AI assists users in searching, understanding, and reusing digitized documents.

Key features include centralized file management, online editing of Office documents and PDFs, and advanced search functions that scan both file names and document content. The system utilizes RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), interactive UIs, and web search functions to help organize and retrieve information. A standard plan is also available which includes an AI chatbot. Security features include single sign-on (SSO) integration and ransomware protection.
