Director Andrea Segre to discuss Venice through cinema at VEZ Library

Director and screenwriter Andrea Segre will participate in a discussion at the Biblioteca civica VEZ in Mestre on September 17. The event, featuring a dialogue with Andrea Viggiano, serves as the autumn launch for ‘I mestieri del cinema’, a series of meetings focused on cinematic professions and languages.

The program is part of the ‘Trame urbane: storie a colori di città in movimento’ project, promoted by the Rete Biblioteche Venezia and supported by the Veneto Region’s ‘Prendo Spazio’ youth policy plan. The discussion will explore cinema as a tool for observing and interpreting urban environments, specifically focusing on Venice, its communities, social transformations, and the lagoon.

Segre, known for works such as ‘Io sono Li’, ‘Welcome Venice’, and ‘Berlinguer. La grande ambizione’, will discuss the creative process, including how stories are formed and how visual choices shape the understanding of a territory. The series will continue with other industry professionals, including Roberto Citran, Paolo Carnera, Jacopo Quadri, and Simonetta Di Fresco, throughout the autumn.
