Director contest for Jovina Gymnasium in Novi Sad remains unannounced

Parents of Jovina Gymnasium in Novi Sad have raised concerns after the competition to appoint a new director has not been published, despite Education Minister Dejan Vuk Stanković’s promise that it would be announced in July, the latest legal deadline. The incumbent director Radivoj P. Stojković’s term expires in November, and the law requires the contest to be issued four to six months before that date.

The temporary school board has not responded to a public‑interest request for information, and Mayor Žarko Mićin claimed the matter is not within the city’s competence. Parents fear the ongoing “crisis” could lead to the eventual closure of the historic school and have publicly asked the minister to clarify when and where the contest will be posted.
