Director Ivan Sen collaborates on Overflow exhibition at Powerhouse Parramatta
Acclaimed Kamilaroi director Ivan Sen has participated in the Overflow exhibition at the new Powerhouse Parramatta museum in western Sydney. Sen was commissioned to film a series of short films featuring seven Indigenous communities from New South Wales.
The project focuses on the stewardship of waterways and the importance of passing cultural knowledge regarding water country to younger generations. Although initially uninterested in non-narrative work, Sen noted that the project provided an opportunity to reconnect with community and land.
In addition to this collaboration, Sen is currently working on several narrative projects, including the horror film The Servant and a drama titled This Winter. He also announced plans to establish his own horror studio.
