Director Jang Jae-hyun, known for the record-breaking 2024 film ‘Exhuma’, is beginning production on a new horror project titled ‘Vampir’. Principal photography is scheduled to start in August, with a planned theatrical release in 2028.
The film is inspired by Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’ and is set against the backdrop of the Greek and Russian Orthodox Church in South Korea. The plot follows a contract killer, played by Yoo Ah-in, who is hired by a clergyman, played by Lee Sung-min, to locate a mysterious pagan group. The mission leads the protagonist into a supernatural conflict involving dark rituals and physical transformations.
The ensemble cast also includes Lee Jun-hyuk as a heretic seeking eternal life, alongside Yoon Kyung-ho, Choi Hyun-wook, and K-pop star Doy.
