Director Nitesh Tiwari praises Telugu cinema at Hyderabad event

Bollywood director Nitesh Tiwari expressed his long-standing appreciation for Telugu cinema during a recent event in Hyderabad. Tiwari noted that his connection to the industry dates back to his school days, sparked by watching Ram Gopal Varma’s Shiva, noting the impact of performances by Nagarjuna, Amala, and Raghuvaran.

He emphasized that strong storytelling and emotion can transcend language barriers, citing Chiranjeevi’s Pratibandh as a film that taught him this lesson. Tiwari also highlighted his interest in classics such as Mani Ratnam’s Geethanjali and films like Eega, Magadheera, and Baahubali. During his speech, he surprised the audience by singing lines from the Geethanjali song ‘Nandi Konda Vagullona.’

Tiwari praised several prominent filmmakers, including SS Rajamouli, Trivikram, Sukumar, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and Nag Ashwin, referring to them as ‘our directors.’ He is currently awaiting the release of his film Ramayana in November.
