Director Timo Tjahjanto to helm Miramax action-comedy The Burnout

Indonesian director Timo Tjahjanto has been selected to direct the upcoming Hollywood action-comedy The Burnout for Miramax. The film is described as a blend of The Big Lebowski and Jason Bourne, following a former CIA agent who is forced back into a dangerous world after attempting to live a quiet life in Ibiza, Spain.

The screenplay for The Burnout was written by Tom O’Connor with recent revisions by Hunter Toro. While casting and production schedules have not yet been announced, the project is being led at Miramax by Arianna D’Andrea, Vice President of Film Production and Development.

This project follows Tjahjanto’s recent international work, including Nobody 2 and The Beekeeper 2. Additionally, filming is currently underway for a sequel to his Netflix hit, The Big 4, though specific plot and casting details for the sequel remain undisclosed.
