Diriyah Institute for Future Arts opens Continuity exhibition

The Diriyah Institute for Future Arts, the first center specialized in new media arts in the MENA region, has opened the second edition of its ‘Continuity’ exhibition in Diriyah. The exhibition showcases works from 16 participants in the second cycle of the New Media Arts Emerging Artists Program, alongside works by program mentors.

Visitors can explore a variety of technical practices, including immersive and multimedia installations, light, sound, animation, virtual reality, mixed reality, and AI-generated projects. The artworks explore themes such as memory, identity, place, belonging, and the relationship between humans and other beings, as well as the boundaries between the organic and the artificial.

Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Hammad, CEO of the Museum Commission, stated that the program represents a long-term strategic investment to build a creative generation capable of shaping the future of the cultural and museum sector in Saudi Arabia. The exhibition is overseen by curator Irene Papadimitriou and assistant curator Bushra Al-Ghamdi, with guidance from mentors Louis Philippe Demers and Rick Trethowick.
