Dirk Gotink resigns from NSC over Mona Keijzer invitation

European Parliament member Dirk Gotink has resigned from the New Social Contract (NSC) party. His departure follows the party's decision to invite Mona Keijzer as a guest speaker at an upcoming general members' meeting in Breda.

Gotink stated that the party is seeking a political restart that does not align with his views. He noted a significant ideological divide between himself and Keijzer, highlighting that she questions the very membership of the Netherlands in the European Union. Keijzer, formerly of the BBB, is currently working on building a new right-wing movement.

Following his resignation, Gotink will continue his role as a Member of the European Parliament within the center-right European People's Party (EPP) faction. He indicated that joining another Dutch political party is not currently a consideration and would only be evaluated before the 2029 European Parliament elections.
