Dirty Shirt releases new single featuring Ian Anderson

Romanian folkcore band Dirty Shirt has released a new single titled ‘A Brighter Day’, featuring flute contributions from Jethro Tull frontman Ian Anderson. The track serves as the third preview for the band’s upcoming album, ‘Balkansylvania Vol. 1: Roots’, which is scheduled for digital release in January 2027.

The song combines upbeat melodies and driving riffs with a children’s choir, contrasting its celebratory sound with lyrical themes regarding personal responsibility, misinformation, and the consequences of false promises.

According to Dirty Shirt composer and producer Mihai Tivadar, Anderson was presented with five demos and chose ‘A Brighter Day’ for the collaboration. Tivadar noted that Anderson’s flute tracks required no editing and integrated naturally into the arrangement, even during the song’s more aggressive sections.
