Disability inclusion and social initiatives highlighted in France

Disability advocacy and inclusion initiatives have seen significant activity in France. The APF France Handicap section in Thiérach recently performed a creative show at Eden, featuring juggling, dance, and music. Accompanied by circus artist Ibrahima Camara, the troupe focused on themes of diversity and overcoming obstacles through collective expression.

In the Cantal region, the ADAPEI association has focused on expanding medico-social services and fostering autonomy. Key achievements include supporting the reopening of the Cueilhes MAS and organizing various community events such as the ‘Le Ton est Donné’ festival and solidarity pop-up shops in Aurillac. Looking forward, the association is working on structural projects, including a family housing development in Aurillac scheduled for 2027 and the creation of three laundries to expand service opportunities.
