Disability Pride Month Highlights Inclusive LGBTQ+ Books and Resources

To mark Disability Pride Month, a collection of LGBTQ+ books is promoted for their stories about love, identity and community. The list includes titles such as *Permission to Come Home*, *Minor Feelings* and *Pleasure Activism*, and it recommends Dr. Han Ren’s *The Hyphenated Life*, which explores the experience of people with intersecting identities such as disability, neurodivergence, queer orientation, immigrant background and mixed heritage.

The promotion also cites health coach Amy Kurtz, who discusses the ongoing challenges faced by people living with chronic illnesses. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 194 million Americans—roughly 76 percent of the population—have at least one chronic condition, with women constituting half of those affected.
