Disability Pride Month Reading Lists Spotlight Inclusive Books
Two curated reading lists celebrate Disability Pride Month by recommending books that center the experiences of people with disabilities. One list, compiled by the J. Willard Marriott Library, highlights titles such as *The Jellyfish*, *Disability Intimacy*, and *Disability Pride: Dispatches From a Post‑ADA World*, focusing on personal narratives, history and cultural identity. Another list for younger readers offers picture books and middle‑grade titles, including *A Fish Like Me*, *Mama Car*, *I Hear the Snow, I Smell the Sea*, and *Wanda Hears the Stars*, which portray characters with visual impairments, mobility differences and autism.
Both collections aim to promote awareness, representation and accessibility in literature during the July celebration of Disability Pride Month.
