Poland launches 1.2 billion PLN disability assistant program

The Polish Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy has announced the call for applications for the 2027 edition of the ‘Personal Assistant for Persons with Disabilities’ program. Funded by the Solidarity Fund, the initiative aims to provide support for daily activities and social integration. The national budget allocated for this program is 1.2 billion PLN.

Target recipients include children aged 2 to 16 with specific disability certifications requiring constant care, as well as adults with moderate or significant disabilities. Services provided by assistants cover self-care, hygiene, household tasks, mobility, and communication support.

Local government units, including municipalities such as Choszczno, Gorzyce, Rokiciny, and Augustów, are beginning the process of applying for funds or conducting needs assessments to prepare for the 2027 implementation. This phase involves local authorities gathering data from residents to determine the scale of required services.
