Disaster prevention systems resume service after Arcadia unauthorized access
Disaster prevention information systems managed by Arcadia, a company based in Minoh, Osaka, have resumed operations following a service disruption caused by unauthorized access.
In Toyama Prefecture, Takaoka City announced on October 15 that its disaster information email services—including multilingual and fax versions—have been restored. The city reported that approximately 4,700 names, email addresses, and phone numbers may have been leaked and has advised residents to remain vigilant against suspicious communications. Nearby Kurobe City and Nyuzen Town have also resumed their emergency information services while investigating potential data leaks.
In Akita Prefecture, Yokote City, Kazuno City, and Kosaka Town also resumed their disaster email distributions on October 15. Yokote City's Crisis Management Division reported receiving three instances of suspicious emails during the service downtime. Authorities are continuing to investigate the extent of the personal information breach and the specific causes of the unauthorized access.
