Discord to resume service in Turkey after meeting content removal rules

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the Discord platform will be restored for Turkish users after it satisfied the country's content‑removal requirements. Discord was blocked in October 2024 following a court order that cited allegations of child sexual abuse, illicit content and other illegal activities on the service. The ministry said the platform now complies with the stipulated criteria, particularly regarding the removal of prohibited material, and that coordination with relevant agencies will allow access to be reinstated "in a short time."
