Discount retailers expand presence across Norfolk
Several discount retailers have expanded their presence across Norfolk throughout 2026, occupying former retail units or opening new premises and creating local employment.
In Diss, B&M opened a new store on Mere Street in a former Aldi unit on February 28, creating approximately 30 jobs. In Dereham, Lidl opened a new purpose-built store on Yaxham Road on February 19 as part of a broader UK expansion.
Other developments include Poundstretcher opening a branch in Attleborough this July in a former Original Factory Shop location, which added 15 jobs. Additionally, Home Values launched in Norwich on April 16, taking over a former Poundland unit on St Stephens Street to sell home furnishings and various consumer goods.
